Synopsis - Fair to the Wind

Samantha, the little orphan ruffian from A Place of Herons, is all grown up. She is a poised young woman coming of age at the turn of the century.

Captain Jim O'Hara is in County Claire, Ireland. His nephew Patrick, or Paddy as his friends call him, is a charismatic young man who has inherited the Aubrey Jean. He is immigrating to the U.S. as Captain of his own ship.

Samantha and Paddy do not resemble their childhood selves, when they last knew each other. Their lives crosscross on the north end of Casco Bay at the resorts of Popham Beach until they finally meet. And when they do, skyrockets fly!
